TEENYTINI CREATES CROCHET AND KNIT FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS
Handmade designs in crochet and knit for babies and children and adults.
JK Lange studied women’s and menswear design at the College of the Arts in Bremen, Germany, and finished her MA with a first class degree in 2000. It was at college that she developed a passion for childrenswear, graduating with a degree show entitled ‘Manchmal kommt die Kindheit zu Besuch’.
She then gained professional experience in diverse areas of fashion, including designing luxury cashmere for TSE, working for a young fashion label in Hamburg, creating high street fashions, collaborating with designer Justin Oh and designing accessories for Jas MB in London.
After many successful years at international level, Julia felt it was time to focus her creativity on her first love – childrenswear. Teenytini bt JK Lange was born in 2007.
In 2009, with Teenytini going from strength to strength, JK Lange encountered a challenge she didn’t expect. A sudden change in her eyesight led to a diagnosis of Leber’s Optic Atrophy, a hereditary condition that results in partial sight. After the initial shock, JK Lange soon realised that Teenytini’s unique designs had always existed in her mind’s eye long before they became objects. Her sight and also her way of seeing colours may have changed, but her vision for her work and her company was clearer than ever. Rather than hindering her design, this diagnosis led to a new lease of life, imagination and creativity, sparking a hugely successful new range.
Teenytini has been featured in Italian Vogue , Milk, Elle Decoration, Collezioni Bambini, Luna and many more international magazines and has sold all over the world, including retail outlets in Japan, South Korea, USA and Europe.
Teenytini’s range is made from high quality fibres which are kind to a child’s skin. The designs create subtle, rich colours which are carefully selected by hand and combined to make every garment unique.
